Columbia River Fishing Guide Philosophy
Welcome to the website of Dan Ponciano, and Dan Ponciano’s Guide Service. I’ve been a professional salmon and steelhead fishing guide for nearly 30 years, and have over 40 years of fishing experience. The best part, I still love waking up every morning and hitting the river. I personally cater my fishing trips to ensure each person’s expectations are met, and hopefully exceeded.
In an effort to keep up with the best river fishing the West Coast has to offer, I’m expanding my fishing guiding services to include the rich fisheries of northern California. While I’ll still be guiding for salmon, steelhead and sturgeon on the Columbia River, I’m excited to also be spending time fishing the Sacramento River. Here we’ll be fishing for striped bass, sturgeon and salmon. I grew up fishing California’s Sacramento River, and am thrilled to share with so many anglers the world-class fishing this Western river has to offer.
The purpose of diversifying Dan Ponciano’s Guide Services is to offer people a quality fishing experience. The Columbia River and Sacramento River are among the best rivers to fish in the county, and I want to offer anglers the opportunities to catch multiple species of fish in both rivers.
Throughout a lifetime of fishing, I’ve achieved high success through hard work, discipline, dedication, and honesty; the same principles I’ve applied to sports while growing up and raising a wonderful, close-knit family. Once you book a fishing trip with me, my goal is to make it so enjoyable that you’ll want to come back. Our paths may cross as strangers, but when the day is done, we’ll depart as friends.
